The Best Art Supply Store Doesn’t Sell Art Supplies

Art doesn't have to be created by the "A grade" art supplies that art catalogs and art store sell. Art doesn't even need to be made using supplies found from hardware stores either. Art could be made by using anything and everything. Trash bags, plastic wraps, even rocks can all be used to create art. All you need to make art is an idea and a way to make that idea a reality

Postmodern principles

I feel that the way art has changed in the many years it's been changing has caused a way to be deeper with meanings. The ways people have found to explain abstract ideals throughout art styles is immense. These changes in art allow people to be more connected with the art they create as opposed to formal principles in art. These new at styles have no bounds and can be used to express any amount of emotions or thoughts.

Is art without meaning decoration?

I feel like art may not have a meaning to the person looking at it. However if the creator feels the art has a meaning then the art has the meaning it needs to have. Even decoration can have meaning if the one decorating or creating the decoration believes it does.

Essential Question "And Then What"

The essential questions project was a project we did which we had a word and we turned that word into a question and turned that question into a piece of art that represented that word's question.

In my case however I couldn't come up with a word that would be good enough to represent in a piece of art. So I decided it would be better for me to work backwards and make the art first. After I had started the art I had made out the word "and" which became the question "and then what?"

Bird post

When i started my bird post I had intended it to merely be a standing bird of wire, but soon it became a bird of rocks upon a post that we later stuck into the ground. This project was done under the basis of  lines, however I feel that the project became much more.

Mix Media Project

For my mix media project I decided to make a reversed little red riding hood, where little red is actually to wolf. I used several types of collages to create this work. I used wrapping paper to make the trees and the hood. I also photo transfer to get the wolfs head. I used normal wrapping paper and flattened it with gesso to get the moon to look the way I wanted it to. When I was making the trees and the hood I crumpled the paper into balls and rolls to get a more realistic view on the environment

Colored Pencil Final Drawing

For the final drawing I decided to use colored pencil. I used this medium because I found it to be the easiest to control and to blend. For my drawing I made several dice that I decided to draw in blue and green. I had them start very close and slowly fall further and further back into the distance. The hardest part of this project, in my opinion, was getting the point of light right on the dice. It was difficult to evenly blend the shades of blue and green throughout the dice.
